Requirements for Medical Welding
Welding in the medical industry is unique. From materials to sensitivity of parts to heat transfer and distortion, it requires a specific set of skills and equipment. At Microtech, we have over 20 years of experience in multiple welding processes including Micro Tungsten Inert Gas (TIG), Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (GTAW), and Laser Beam Welding (LBW).
With medical devices, the decision to use either GTAW or LBW is something to be decided on a per-part basis. Thin-walled parts of some assemblies require precise, accurate, and versatile welding, which makes micro welding the ideal option.
Since medical devices require cleanliness and accuracy, it is imperative that the welds are performed in a lab-like environment. Microtech Welding operates such facility that accommodates the welding of medical-grade materials. We are also ISO 9001:2015 certified, so we guarantee quality and accuracy with all of our welds.
