Precision Welding for Data Centers

Laser weld tolerances to ±0.002", developed over 25 years on medical implants and aerospace components. Now applied to the cooling and sensing hardware inside today's data centers.

Reliability

Welds Built to Last the Life of the Facility

Data center hardware runs around the clock through constant thermal cycling. We control heat input, bead size, and atmosphere on every joint so it keeps performing long after installation.

  • Leak-tight joints: Precise heat and bead control with Micro TIG and laser welding.
  • Minimal distortion on thin walls: Laser welding's narrow heat-affected zone protects delicate manifolds and housings.
  • Clean welds: A fully inert purge chamber for joints where contamination is not acceptable.
  • Verified penetration: Confirmed in our in-house metal sectioning lab.

We are already welding components for data center customers today.

Applications

Where We Fit in the Cooling System

We weld the precision components inside the cooling system, not the structural frames or piping skids around it.

  • Coolant distribution manifolds: Leak-tight joints on thin-walled stainless and aluminum manifolds, with heat input controlled to prevent distortion.
  • Cold plate components: Fine, low-heat welds on the components that sit closest to the chip.
  • CDU components and tubing assemblies: Fittings, tubing connections, and subassemblies for coolant distribution units.
  • Heat recovery hardware: Joints in heat exchangers and lines that must hold up under continuous thermal load.
  • Sensor and monitoring housings: Hermetic laser seals on temperature, humidity, and leak detection sensor enclosures.

All work happens at our facility, on components sized to fit our precision welding equipment.

Welding processes

Process

Best for

Data center fit

Laser Beam Welding (LBW)

Minimal heat input, narrow heat-affected zone, thin-walled parts, welds near heat-sensitive electronics

Hermetic sensor seals, cold plate components, fine fittings

Micro TIG (GTAW)

Clean, strong welds with close control of bead size and minimal distortion

Thin-walled manifolds, tubing joints, small assemblies

TIG (GTAW)

Deeper penetration on thicker material under higher stress

Heavier fittings and connection points

Plasma Arc Welding (PAW)

Deep penetration with a narrow, precise weld profile on thicker material

Structural components

When electrical components sit close to the joint, laser welding's highly localized heat lets us weld without risking heat damage to nearby electronics.

Not sure which process your part needs? We consult on joint design, weld symbol interpretation, and process selection.

Materials

Materials We Weld

  • Stainless steel
  • Aluminum alloys
  • Titanium alloys
  • Inconel and other nickel-based alloys
  • Reactive metals in our purge chamber, including titanium and cobalt chrome

We also join dissimilar metals, such as mild steel to cast stainless steel, using processes and parameters selected for each material pair. We weld customer-supplied material and document the process from incoming material certification through inspection.

Documentation and verification

What You Get With Every Job

  • A process proven before production: We develop the weld process to your print and first verify it in our sectioning lab.
  • Full process documentation: Incoming material certification tied to your part, welding parameters, operator identification, and inspection results.

Development to production

From First Print to Production Run

  1. Design support: We consult on joint design, weld symbols, and process choice while your part is still on the drawing board.
  2. Process development: We develop a weld process to your print and verify it in our sectioning lab before production begins.
  3. Prototypes: Fast turnaround on prototypes and small production runs at our Warsaw location, with full laser and GTAW capability.
  4. Production: Documented, repeatable welding at our 12,000 sq. ft. Fort Wayne facility.
