Microtech Welding was proud to participate in the Fort Wayne Community Schools Welding Career Fair, held at the Career Academy Automotive Building last month. The event brought together 11th and 12th-grade welding students exploring careers in welding, fabrication, pipefitting, and related trades.

Representing Microtech and NA Holding at the event were Laura Loxton, Director of Human Resources; Mike Zehner, Production Manager; and Luke Tegtmeyer, Welder/Laser Lead. The team set up an interactive booth featuring real-world welding components, biomedical welding samples, and a monitor showcasing Microtech's work, giving students a real look at what a career in precision welding can look like.
Mike Zehner, who spent over 25 years as a welding instructor at Anthis Career Center, brings a unique perspective to events like this. His background in welding education and his ongoing mentorship of work-based learning interns made him a natural fit for connecting with students at this stage of their career exploration. Luke Tegtmeyer, Welder/Laser Lead, offered students a firsthand look at what life on the shop floor at Microtech is really like.

Events like this are central to Microtech's commitment to investing in the next generation of skilled tradespeople. Fort Wayne's welding talent pipeline is something we take seriously, and we're grateful to FWCS and Welding Instructor Clay Provines for organizing an event that gives students meaningful exposure to real industry opportunities.
